I just have to share all this gorgeous goodness with you today on Valentines Day! This is the Vintage Valentine Fat book I participated in sponsored by Dede. She put so much into these books! We had to send her 16 pages....once she got them all, she altered a hard back book and added the beautiful french text. She sewed the new pages in, and then sent them ALL back out. So much work went into this project for Dede. She simply did it because she wanted to. This pushed me to think outside the box and work with different materials than I'm used to.
as an added bonus Dede sent me one of her beautiful Valentine Accordion Banners. I remember when she showed us these last year at this time...I admired them from afar then....now I'm the lucky owner of one!
I still have my Christmas Wonderland Houses on display. At least I took the ones down that had obvious signs of Christmas! These are winter themed so I can keep them up right? I'll be cleaning out and packing up this weekend I guess. We were hit with temps in the 70's this week, so somehow they don't quite fit in. The Valentines Goodness will stay up well past tomorrow, I can assure you of that!
I met my husband 27 years ago today! Right before Valentines Day! We met at a bar in Georgetown (DC) and I was only 18. I think Cupid found us and knew we were meant for each other! We were married 9 months later. We like to reminisce about those old days, dancing in clubs in DC and not a care in the world! Here we are today...3 kids later (25, 23 and 15) much older, rounder, wrinkled and dimpled but more content and happy every passing year!
Happy Valentines Day!
I just love how the fat book turned out - what a treasure you have there!

Eeeeek!!! SO so beautiful!! What an amazing book. You know, we buy all of this junk at stores to decorate for the holidays and it isn't that great... but now you will have this gorgeous handmade book to take out every year and display. I love it!

I'm so glad you like the banner and the book. What a fun project it was!! I'm so glad you were part of it and hope you'll join in when I do this again!
My husband and I are celebrating our first date 23 years ago tomorrow. We meet years before through friends, as our respective best friends were married to each other. It was good to know him for so long before dating, and like you 23 years has brought about many changes in our appearance. Perhaps I'll post a pic of us then and now, that might be fun to see!
