I've been busy making more of these.....
Thanks to everyone who ordered! For a limited time I'm offering free shipping.....just because......it's hard to justify spending money on something you can't eat or wear sometimes...but having something that brings a smile to your face is also priceless!
I like to stand while I'm crafting. I've always been that way...weird I know.....so when I was prepping ALL the fabric for these garlands I must have stood for HOURS happily ripping away. Now I'm paying for it with bad muscle spasms! I had to leave work early yesterday and stay home today to rest that big knotted muscle in my back. At least it happened at the right place...I work for Orthopedic Surgeons...one who specializes in Spines! They had to bring a ROLING chair to me because my back seized up and I COULD NOT MOVE! just a LITTLE embarrassing when your co workers witness you crying like a baby! It's a lot better today! Something like that has never happened to me before.
While laying on my back on a moist heating pad, I still got to read blogs! I used my iphone! Not quite the same but better than nothing! I also saw how awful my ceiling is, and remembered how I promised myself I'd paint it this winter. All these things I could be doing with my time off...but can't! Frustrating!
Here's a picture of what I gave my little "friend daughter" for Valentines day....her own Journal! I used to keep journals with my kids when they were little, they'd leave their journal on my pillow and I'd write back and leave it on theirs a few days later. We had so much fun with this and I still have them. I wanted her to enjoy the same experience.
I made the little tote bag to hold the journal and all the fun supplies-otherwise I'm sure it would all end up under the bed somewhere. The tote is a baby blanket I thrifted with no purpose in mind...just loved the SOFT feel of it and the raised polka dots! I used the binding to make the straps!
Tonight I'm off on a weekend road trip with my sisters to meet a Realtor at my moms house (about 4 hrs away). We've decided despite the bad economy we are going to go ahead and list it. We'll declutter some more and donate a bunch more too.
Speaking of thrifting....check out this cute robe I found for my daughter...it's brand new....
Now she won't have to run down the hall with a towel after her shower yelling "NOBODY LOOK!" at which point my husband and I both yell from wherever we are...."Whewwwwwww!"
Hope your weekend if fun and pain free!
Hope your back is better. Nothing worse! xo

I hope you are feeling better- Try to sit down a little when you are crafting. I completely understand though - I get back issues when Im stooped over pricing things for the shop.
Do you have any of the garlands left? Can I still order one- They are beautiful!

You poor thing!! Back pain is just awful. I've had that seizing up thing, where you are just STUCK and can't move! Its horrid. I'm glad you were somewhere that they could help you.

Oh my gosh- your back spasm at work sounds like the kind of thing that would have been mortifying any place but a spine surgeon's office. Hope your feeling better soon- I know its so frustrating to basically feel ok EXCEPT when you move.
Love your daughter's robe- what a cutie!
