We all know about the wonderful connections we make through blogging. We almost feel like we "know" each other as we follow along on life's ups and downs...marriages, babies, layoffs...puppies....thrifting...make overs....I've been fortunate to meet a few blog buds in real life and have felt like I'd known them already!
I "met" Cami, my blog friend probably over a year ago. We just had so much to talk about through comments and emails....sometimes we'd go back and forth several times a night learning more and more about each other as time went on. Cami has a wonderful heart and is so full of spirit. I just wish I could meet her in real life...maybe one day! So I commented on Cami's blog a while back about her art journal...I've been soaking them up all over the Internet and have wanted to start one for sooo long. I got started back in the fall, but I stalled a little. I saw this picture that Cami posted and commented on it. I asked her what were her favorite materials to use...what pens, glues, markers....techniques....we emailed back and forth several times and she said "hold on...I'll send you a few samples of what I like and then you can decide for yourself" oh how sweet was that? So I was expecting a few pencils, maybe a pen....just to get a feel for what I wanted. This is the box she sent to me
so many goodies I was just overwhelmed! I didn't know where to start!
These Souffle pens are wonderful! They're like writing with butter! She sent two little bags of buttons, bobs and fun things to collage with too. The tag on one of the bags was sooo sweet
"O Lord, let my life reflect the joy you have put into my heart, that your name may be glorified"
My 15 year old daughter who is way too cool to be SEEN with me anywhere...who constantly reminds me that "you can't pull that off" (regarding fashion etc) was super excited too. So much so that she sat there with the box in her lap and doodled right on the box!
Cami, I can't thank you enough for your generosity! You certainly opened up my art world with this wonderful gift! I didn't want to go to bed last night...I was having so much fun playing. It was well after midnight by the time my head hit the pillow. I had to be up at 5:45!
This is the business card Cami included-
how cute is this? "I am as happy as a bird with a french fry!" That quote will definitely be a full page in my new art journal. We should all know how happy a bird with a french fry would feel every once in a while. Yesterday I found out what that feels like!
Tomorrow I'll be showing pictures of my tag book from Karla's Puppy Love swap and on Saturday, I'll share my Vintage Valentine Fat Book I just received from Dede....such pure inspiration and beauty floating around here these days!
Oh wow!! Such goodies indeed!
