I know you are probably all Christmas-ed out...but I'm just now getting around to this!
We had to bring three gifts to my sisters Christmas eve party to exchange in this style.....everyone piles their gifts on a table and you can choose from the pile or steal someone else's gift that they have already opened. I bought three gift cards...figured that was safe. I wrapped them in thrift store boxes (of course) that I embellished.
this one had a sporting goods store gift card. My sister grabbed it right away...strictly because of the way it was decorated. The gift card ended up getting yanked by one of the grown up boys there...but they allowed her to keep the box!
This was a paper mache box that I covered in paper from Target. I bought 3 gift cards to this place and wrapped them all this way. Each time I was at the mall this year, I went into Macy's, Lord and Taylor and Nordstrom several times asking for perfume samples. Each box was stuffed to the rim with tons of samples AND the gift card. Much better than handing over a gift card only...and it didn't cost me anything extra. As soon as this box was opened it was promptly hidden by the recipient so nobody could see what she got...and therefore couldn't steal it! She ended up getting to take it home.
This was the gift I wrapped for my mom. I just added pink rope and plastic greenery to the top. The little bottle attached is what I made for all the women at the party. My mom was the only one that got the little deer though. She LOVES to watch the deer in my yard so I saved this little guy for hers.
I managed to hang a little bobble from the top on the inside....so it would twirl when the little jar was picked up. The tops are bobbles from an old chandelier that we took down...it was JUST on the other side of gawdy! But I've found a good use for all the little bobbles!
I'll be back soon to show you some WONDERFUL thrifty finds!
