Making more memories
Looking out the window....watching....waiting for friends and family
My sweet little friend was INSTANTLY drawn over to my glitter houses...like a HUGE magnet. Her Mama told her DON'T TOUCH! I said...thats why it's here! For her to see, and touch and play.....I had her in my my mind the entire time I was setting it up last week.
See...she didn't even have her coat off yet!
All day she was excited to come to our house. It's a tradition for her. I'm so thankful to be a part of her life and build lots of wonderful memories for this little sweetheart. Her Mama is a friend of my daughter, and a VERY YOUNG SINGLE Mama. She gets a lot of help and support from friends and family. It truly does take a village......I love this little cutie pie as if she were my own grandchild...or ehem....I'm NOT OLD ENOUGH to be a grannie yet....so I love her as if she were my own! (WHO am I kidding?)
When she got tired of food, fun and football, she went back to my room to relax on the bed watching kid shows. She hollered for me to come back and visit for a minute. I walk back and find this.....
I didn't have the heart to tell her we just spent the last SIX MONTHS training Sarah not to get on the bed anymore! The look on Sarah's face is...."OH GREAT! I'm gonna get yelled at". Sarah is just the perfect size for a little girl like this. She's so playful and they run and tumble and play ball and tug 0 war every time she visits.
Friday I take off down the road with my sister to my moms old house. It's still sitting there all lonely and sad. We will go down and get some more prized memories.....throw some things away...donate some things and THINK about renting it out. There is no way it would sell right now and the homeowners insurance is getting ready to CANCEL because it's vacant! My sister has to take care of some old accounts at my moms bank as well. I so wish we could take my mom along...so she could see her things...but it's impossible. She does not talk about this house anymore and does not remember living here.....(she only lived here about two years). Seeing it all would only confuse her. Today I got to talk to her on the phone, she was at my sisters for Thanksgiving. She told me she was thinking about her mom and dad all day and wanted to call them when she got "home" I just told her that was very sweet and she should do that. (Her father has been gone 30 years and her mother 13 years.) We'll drive the four hours down and the four hours back in one day.
I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend building and making memories with friends and family!
oh....and I made another wreath! I used one of the sweet little Reindeer! This one is for sale on Ebay....if it doesn't sell I'll be just as happy!
What a great post!

Oh, your village is so sweet! And making magical memories for your wee friend! How wonderful!
You asked about the deer. We put out both birdseed and cracked corn. If both are there, the deer will eat the bird seed first, but if the birds (and squirrels!!) have eaten all the birdseed, they will eat the corn.
No special feeders -- what you see was here when we got here. The flat wood pan is really the lid for the taller box, but something comes along and knocks the taller box over every night (raccoons?), so we quit trying and just put food in both.
Whatever you decide to put out, you will have to get at least a parttime job to pay for the food once all the birds and deer and squirrels and chipmunks find you.
:-)))
But it's worth it. We spend endless hours watching them and so far, in the two months we've been here, we've counted over 20 species of birds so far!!
BTW, LOVE your photo! Very happy and beautiful!!
Warmly, Ronda

What a wonderful gift you're giving this little one by being an important part of her life. What better gift can we give than that of spending time, with those we love, and those who love us?
Happiest of holidays to you!

You are a darling person for looking after your little girl friend like you do. That's so special!
I LOVE your Glitter Houses. It looks like a winter wonderland. And I took a look at your Reindeer Wreath on ebay...I would so love to have it but my house is in country reds. The pink and aqua colors are gorgeous but it just wouldn't work for me. Darn.

Lovely post Robin- and I love the new side-bar portrait of you, so beautiful!
Thank you for the encouragement as well. I am feeling it. I guess I just need some time to come up for air. X

It looks like you had a wonderful day. It's really nice that you have a "please touch" policy ... and that you welcome your little friend with such open arms. That puppy picture is too much! Good luck with your trip today.
