I asked the manager, "would you be interested in selling the BROKEN dress form?" He said they were trying to figure out how to fix it" He said "ask me again in a few weeks" so a few weeks go by and I ask him again. He said he'd sell it for $10.00. So I said "hmmm I don't know for sure if I can make her whole again!" so he said "Ok, $5.00 bucks you can have her" So I stuck her in the trunk and dragged her home. My husband remembered we had an antique lamp base that we were going to re-wire the lamp for. We stuck her on there and she is perfect! She is now hanging out in my spare room where I do all my fun artsy crafty stuff. She will soon be wearing my wedding gown from almost 25 years ago. I did not have it preserved and it's been shoved in a cedar chest all these years. I thought I'd pull it out and at least be able to remember how pretty it was!
This is the lamp base
one last pretty to show you! Found this in the thrift store a few months ago. I have it hanging on the wall in my craft room.
I've been working on some fun altered journals to give as gifts and maybe sell on etsy. (will post pictures later this weekend!) I have the next five days off! Whoo-hoo!
